If you’re up for a short drive from Sherrills Ford, Terrell, Monbo, or Long Island, the 42nd Annual Harvest Folk Festival is coming back to Murray’s Mill Historic District in Catawba, NC on September 26-27, 2026.
When: Saturday, September 26, 10am-4pm, and Sunday, September 27, 1pm-5pm.
Where: Murray’s Mill Historic District, 1464 Murrays Mill Rd, Catawba, NC 28609.
Admission: $5 at the gate, which includes a tour of the mill.
The festival celebrates Catawba County’s agricultural heritage with antique cars, tractors, and farm machinery, molasses making, gold panning, corn shucking and shelling, and a petting zoo for the kids. The Murray’s Mill Amphitheater hosts Bluegrass, Country, and Gospel music through the weekend, including a set from the Cockman Family. Visitors can also tour the mill itself, walk through the Murray family homes and the historic general store, and talk with costumed interpreters and reenactors along the way.
The festival is put on by the Historical Association of Catawba County, which has run it for over four decades. It’s a little outside our core coverage area, but it’s the kind of county history worth boosting when it’s this close by.
