September Is Library Card Sign-Up Month: Get Yours at the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Branch

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. Here’s what a Catawba County Library card gets you, and how to sign up at the Sherrills Ford-Terrell branch or any of the county’s…

Every September since 1987, libraries across the country have marked Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Catawba County Library is joining in again this year. If you live anywhere in Sherrills Ford, Terrell, Monbo, or Long Island and don’t have a library card yet, this is a good nudge to go get one. It’s free.

This year’s theme is “A Library Card Hits All the Right Notes.” The idea: there’s something at the library for just about anyone, whether that’s checking out a book, using a study room, getting help with a resume, or just finding a quiet spot to sit for a while.

A library card gets you more than books these days. Through the county system you get access to Libby for e-books and audiobooks, NCLive for research and reference, job-search resources, and technology help. All seven Catawba County Library locations honor the same card, including the Sherrills Ford-Terrell branch, so it works whether you’re closer to that branch or another one in the county.

Getting a card is simple: stop by any of the library’s seven locations, catch the Library to Go mobile unit when it’s out in the community, or sign up online at catawbacountync.gov/library. For questions, the library can be reached at (828) 465-8665 or mylibrary@catawbacountync.gov.
