Sunday morning, neighbors. Slow start, big mug, two things for your week.
What’s New
Two new dates just landed on our Upcoming Events page. On Wednesday, September 30, from 2 to 3:30 PM, the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Branch Library is hosting a fall craft session for seniors led by Visiting Angels. Register through the Catawba Council on Aging at 828-328-2269. Then on Thursday, October 1, at 6 PM, the Main Library in Newton hosts a candidate forum for the Catawba County Board of Commissioners. You can email questions ahead of time to info.lwvcv@gmail.com or bring them with you.
Did You Know
If you find a hurt or orphaned wild animal, NC Wildlife Resources Commission keeps a live, searchable map of licensed wildlife rehabilitators, sorted by species and location. For hawks, owls, eagles, and vultures, the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville is one of the closest dedicated options, about 30 to 40 minutes away. Call ahead at (704) 875-6521 before bringing a bird in. The map link and the rest of the details are on our County Services: Who to Call page.
Know a local rehabber we should list, or an event we missed? Tell us about it. Every tip makes this guide a little more useful for everybody out here.
