Mountain Creek Park, at 6554 Little Mountain Rd in Sherrills Ford, is Catawba County’s flagship park. Our Local Spots page lists playgrounds, hiking loops, a kayak and canoe launch, a fishing pier, and mountain-bike trails. It’s the only county park directly on this shoreline. One note if you’re hauling a boat: the launch is for kayaks and canoes, with no ramp for motorized trailers. Check the county’s park listing for current hours before you go.
