Early voting at the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Library is open until 7:30 tonight, and it runs through Saturday, October 31.
Monday morning, neighbors. Grab a cup, here’s the short version.
What’s New
The library is the place to be this week. Our early voting guide has the hours (the county says to call 828-464-2424 to confirm). Storytimes run Wednesday through Friday at 10 am, and on Saturday, October 24, volunteers are tidying the library grounds from 8 am to noon. No experience needed.
Also Saturday evening, the county’s Library to Go visits Downtown Catawba for Treats in the Streets, 6 to 8 pm. It’s a short drive, and details are on Upcoming Events.
Looking ahead, the county’s free Household Hazardous Waste Day is Saturday, November 7, 9 am to 1 pm in Hickory. Residents only.
Did You Know
Our Support Local page lists a full butcher shop in Hickory: Raising Roots Farm & Craft Butchery, selling heritage pork and Angus beef, with a restaurant, The Old Spot, alongside it. We haven’t visited, so check their site for hours and what’s in the case.
Know a local farm or maker we’re missing? Send us a tip. The list only gets better with your help.
