Want to do something useful with a Saturday morning? The Sherrills Ford-Terrell Branch Library is holding a Community Workday on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and everyone is welcome to pitch in.
The Lake Norman Garden Club, the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, and the Friends of the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Library are teaming up to spruce up the library grounds. The to-do list is simple: trim limbs, weed the parking lot islands, and clear brush along the edge of the parking lot. The county says no experience is needed.
The library is at 9154 Sherrills Ford Rd. If you plan to come, work gloves and clothes you do not mind getting dirty are generally a good idea. Check with the library at the branch before you head over if you have questions about what to bring.
This is the kind of thing that makes a community feel like ours. A few neighbors with a free morning can do a lot for a space that everyone in Sherrills Ford, Terrell, Monbo, and Long Island gets to use.
