Good to know

  • You can vote at any of the five early voting sites in the county, not just the closest one. The others are the Newton Main Library, Highland Recreation Center in Hickory, Southwest Library in Hickory, and Conover Station.
  • Bring a valid photo ID.
  • Not registered? Registration closed October 9 for Election Day, but eligible voters can still register and vote at an early voting site. Bring photo ID and proof of where you live, such as a current utility bill, bank statement or paycheck with your name and address.
  • Curbside voting is available if you can’t go inside because of age or physical disability.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and that day you vote at your assigned polling place. For the full set of dates, see our voting guide. The county’s early voting page has the site list and the accepted forms of ID.
