Two things on our Upcoming Events page today: owl pellet dissection for kids ages 6 to 11 at 4 PM at the Sherrills Ford-Terrell branch library (call 828-466-6827 to register), and the Catawba County School Board candidate forum at 6 PM at the Main Library in Newton. We’re also reading through what came out of Monday’s county commissioners meeting and will share more once we’ve checked the details.
Did You Know
Wilkinson Family Farm in Maiden runs a daily farm stand with eggs, produce, berries, and flowers. It’s one of 15 produce and farm stand listings on our Support Local: Farms & Makers page, which runs from the Lakeside Farmers Market in Sherrills Ford out to farms in Maiden, Taylorsville, and Hickory. Here’s their Facebook page. What’s available changes with the season, so check ahead before you make the drive.
Buy from a farm stand we haven’t listed yet? Tell us about it. A list like this only gets good when the neighbors who shop there help build it.
