Morning, neighbors. Pour a cup, today’s is a practical one.

What’s New

The Sherrills Ford Convenience Center upgrades are done. The county cut the ribbon Tuesday on a bigger layout, a better entrance and exit, and brighter lighting. The part most folks will care about: you can now drop off used motor oil and oil filters, antifreeze, and cooking oil right there at 8876 Sherrills Ford Road. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, so it’s open today.

Did You Know

Our Local Spots page isn’t just marinas and boat ramps. It also lists the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Public Library, with books, computers, meeting space, and a steady run of programs. This week alone: Circuit Bugs for kids ages 8 and up today at 4 PM (registration required, call 828-466-6827), and a Using AI session for adults Friday at 2 PM. Both are on our Upcoming Events page, along with this weekend’s Harvest Folk Festival at Murray’s Mill.

That’s the cup. Tried out the new convenience center, or know a spot we should add to the list? Let us know. The more of you who chip in, the better this gets for everybody.
