Morning, neighbors. Coffee’s on, and today we’re pointing you toward the county park that’s actually ours.

Did You Know

Did you know Mountain Creek Park is the only Catawba County park sitting directly on this stretch of Lake Norman shoreline? It has playgrounds, hiking loops, a kayak launch, a fishing pier, and mountain bike trails, all off Little Mountain Road in Sherrills Ford. The county’s other three parks, Bakers Mountain, Riverbend, and St. Stephens, are worth a visit too, but they sit elsewhere in Catawba County, not on the water. If you haven’t made it out to Mountain Creek yet, it’s listed on our Local Spots page along with the rest of what’s actually here.

Quote for the Road: “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” John Muir said that a long time ago, and Mountain Creek Park is a pretty easy place to test it out.

Got a favorite spot at the park, or one we haven’t listed yet? Send us a tip, that’s how this list actually stays useful.
