Morning, neighbors. Coffee’s on, and today’s cup is short: one practical tip worth filing away, and one honest gap on the site worth knowing about.
What’s New
Catawba County Government posted a set of tech-focused emergency preparedness tips this week, worth passing along before the next storm rolls through. Texting works better than calling when networks get jammed, an out-of-state contact can help relay messages when local lines are overloaded, and it’s worth scanning copies of insurance and ID documents before you need them in a hurry. Full details, plus a link to free printable family emergency plan templates, are in our write-up on storm season prep.
Did You Know
Our Support Local: Farms & Makers page is honest about where it’s still thin. The Crafts & Handmade section has just two entries so far, because Catawba County’s pottery and craft tradition runs heaviest on the other side of the county. That’s not us skipping it, it’s just where the research has landed. If you know a local maker, potter, or crafter who belongs on that list, we’d genuinely like to hear about it.
Got a tip, a correction, or a maker we’re missing? Send it over, that’s really the only way this list gets built right.
