Morning, neighbors. Coffee’s on, and today’s cup has a little bit of both news and homegrown goodness in it.

What’s New

We’re looking into a zoning rules update Catawba County has in the works for the unincorporated parts of the county, including our area. It’s still working its way through the process, so we’re not ready to say more yet, but we’ll have details once there’s something solid to share.

Did You Know

Our Support Local: Farms & Makers page has grown into a real directory since it went up last month, and with fall creeping in, Bumble Berry Farm in Catawba is worth a mention. They run u-pick strawberries and blackberries earlier in the year, but come fall it’s pumpkins, a good one to keep on your list for weekend plans with the kids.

Full directory, including where to find honey, eggs, and fresh produce closer to home, is on the page.

Quote for the Road

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”

Albert Camus

Feels about right for pumpkin season.

That’s this morning’s cup. Tips, corrections, or a favorite spot we’re missing? Send it our way, we build this together.
